Transforming Lives Through Legal Advocacy and Life Coaching
At Unapologetically HERS (UAHERS) and Restorative Community Solutions (RCS), we believe in the power of community-driven solutions to create lasting change. The Collaborative Advocacy Program (CAP) is our groundbreaking initiative designed to provide critical support for women, particularly women of color, transgender, and gender non-conforming individuals, incarcerated in California’s women’s prisons.
Why CAP Matters
The criminal justice system has long been marred by systemic inequities, disproportionately affecting marginalized communities. The Racial Justice Act (RJA) provides a unique opportunity to challenge these injustices by allowing individuals to present evidence of racial bias in their cases. However, many eligible individuals lack the awareness and legal representation needed to leverage this groundbreaking law. CAP is here to bridge that gap.
Our Approach
CAP combines legal advocacy with life coaching to ensure comprehensive support for those seeking resentencing. Our program includes:
- Educational Seminars: Providing information about the RJA and other resentencing options to incarcerated individuals.
- Legal Advocacy: Offering client-centered legal representation to assess and advance RJA claims.
- Life Coaching: Facilitating successful reintegration into the community through transformative relationships and personalized support.
- Pro Bono Network: Engaging the legal community to support individuals eligible for resentencing through volunteer efforts.
